Patient satisfaction rates exceed 99% across services

Patients across the North East are overwhelmingly recommending care at Tyneside Surgical Services, with new figures showing consistently high satisfaction across outpatient, diagnostic and surgical services.

Data collected between January and December 2025 reveals that the vast majority of patients would recommend the service to family and friends – a key measure of confidence in healthcare.

Following outpatient appointments, 99.2% of patients said they were likely or extremely likely to recommend the service.

For patients undergoing endoscopy and cystoscopy procedures, this figure rose to 99.8% , while 99.7% of surgical patients reported the same level of confidence in their care.

Across all three areas, fewer than 1% of patients reported neutral or negative experiences – and in some services, no patients reported that they would be unlikely to recommend treatment.

These results reflect a consistent patient experience across the organisation, from first appointment through to treatment and follow-up care.

The ‘friends and family’ recommendation measure is widely used across healthcare as a benchmark of patient satisfaction, offering a simple but powerful insight into whether patients feel confident in the care they have received.

For patients, the findings provide reassurance that they can expect a high standard of care, clear communication, and a positive overall experience – whether attending an outpatient appointment, undergoing a diagnostic procedure, or receiving surgery.

As demand for private and specialist healthcare continues to grow, the results position Tyneside Surgical Services as a trusted provider delivering consistent, patient-centred care across the region.
