After qualifying as a medical doctor, she completed six years of postgraduate training in anaesthesia in India. She completed MD anaesthesia with gold medal in 2002 and worked in the premiere tertiary care centre in Delhi, India.

In 2005, Dr Kansal moved to UK and undertook further specialist training in Anaesthesia & Pain Management across various hospitals. She completed advanced pain training from Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI), Newcastle upon Tyne and James Cook University Hospital (JCUH), Middlesbrough. After completing her anaesthetic and pain training, she pursued further interventional interest with post CCT fellowship in Neuromodulation at the JCUH, Middlesbrough. She has been a consultant in pain management & Anaesthesia in the NHS since 2016.

She treats both NHS and private patients.

In addition to his consultancy work, Dr Kansal is actively involved in research projects and education.

She is skilled in all the mainstream interventional and non-interventional pain management techniques such as:

  • Epidural Injections (Thoracic, Lumbar, Caudal)
  • Facet Joint Injections (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar)
  • Nerve Root Blocks (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar, Sacral)
  • Peripheral Nerve Blocks (Ultrasound guided)
  • Radiofrequency Procedures (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar, Sympathetic Ganglia)
  • Joint injections (Sacroiliac joint , Shoulder, Hip, Knees etc.)
  • Spinal Cord Stimulation for all the indications
  • Sympathetic Blocks (Celiac Plexus, Stellate, Splanchnic, Lumbar, Hypogastric, Ganglion Impar etc)
  • Trigger Point Injections

Outside of work, Dr Kansal enjoys music and spending time with his family and friends.
